Glastonbury Accommodation

If you are visiting Glastonbury anytime of the year except the end of June, you will love it. If you are visiting Glastonbury at the end of June then you should be at the festival! If you are going to to the festival then your best option for Glastonbury accommodation is to rent a campervan or motorhome and stay on the allocated fields designed for this. There is no other ‘luxury’ alternative, unless you do what Tom Jones does and arrive by helicopter. In actual fact the festival is at the village of Pilton, but the nearest town is Shepton Mallett with Glastonbury Town still further away. Having said that, Glastonbury is a great place to visit anyway.

Glastonbury accommodation can be from the plentiful Bed and Breakfasts, Hotels and Inns where you can stay. Of course we would rather you hired a campervan and stayed at the really nice campsite called “The Isle of Avalon Touring Caravan Park” which is in Godney Road, Glastonbury (Tel: 01458 833618). This is a modern park which has a friendly atmosphere and only a short walk from the centre of Glastonbury. Other ones not quite so near include Ashcombe Farm
at Steanbow, East Pennard, Glastonbury (Tel: 01749 890153), Orchard Camping at Catcott Road, Burtle, Nr Glastonbury (Tel: 01278 722123) and The Old Oaks Touring Park at Wick Farm, Wick, Glastonbury (Tel: 01458 831437).

I personally like Greenacres Camping which is aimed at Families. The site is flat and easily accessible and there is plenty of space for children to play, with swings and slides etc.  Greenacres is on the outskirts of North Wootton village, which lies at the centre of a triangle between the towns of Wells, Shepton Mallet and Glastonbury.
